Description
It is with utmost gratitude that Mulberry Press may share with our readers this little volume of Notes.
The Notes are those of James A. Neal CSD, which Mr. Neal had gifted to Doris Henty. Many readers will recall her sister’s rich Foreword in Doris Dufour Henty’s own book, “Addresses and Other Writings on Christian Science” first published in 1990 by Mulberry Press and now in its seventh printing.
James Neal was one of the youngest students selected by Mrs. Eddy to be present among the seventy invited by telegram to Concord for her last Class of ‘98. The online account of Longyear’s historical exhibit titled “…to impart a fresh impulse” reveals Mrs. Eddy’s opening words of explanation to this momentous gathering of her students: “You have been invited hither to receive from me one or more lessons on Christian Science…This opportunity is designed to impart a fresh impulse to our spiritual attainments, the great need of which I daily discern. I have awaited the right hour, and to be called of God to contribute my part towards this result.”
Mr. Neal recorded his notes from that Class as well as his own notes over many successive years of teaching Christian Science. These have been recently re-gifted to Mulberry Press to be preserved and shared with others.
